Discover Reschio’s revival: 1,500 hectares of history and charm, captured in Reschio: The First Thousand Years
DownloadThe 1,500-hectare estate of Reschio, north of Perugia, exemplifies the art of revival. Purchased in 1994 by Count Antonio Bolza, the 11th-century castle and its 50 farmhouses were restored by his son, Count Benedikt Bolza, and his wife, Donna Nencia Corsini, transforming the dilapidated property into a luxurious retreat that honours local traditions and craftsmanship.
Now home to a boutique hotel, Reschio features bespoke interiors, a design studio housed in a former tobacco-drying facility, and its own production of olive oil and wine, reflecting its sustainable ethos. The estate’s journey is chronicled in Reschio: The First Thousand Years (Rizzoli), a book that explores its revival through 26 chapters celebrating its architecture, arts, and culinary heritage - a story of passion and precision.
