A tale of patience, intuition and a rosé that quietly became something more
Reschio is a place that whispers. It speaks in the hush of wind through trees, in the crackle of earth beneath a passing fox. Here, beneath the soft rise of hills, the land has long been a faithful companion to humankind. Tended by hand, cherished like something sacred, it has offered its fruits over the centuries—mulberries, grains, herbs, olives and grapes.
When the Bolza family arrived, they found a wild, unkempt nature—but alive. They listened. They embraced it. And only then, they began to cultivate, guided by an ethic that places the wellbeing of the soil above the demands of productivity. Three decades on, Reschio has become a shining example of integrated agriculture. Every seed is sown with the landscape in mind; every harvest is traceable, part of a cycle that minimises waste and restores meaning to what we produce.
From this ethos, our winemaking took shape. Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grechetto and Trebbiano—varietals we nurture with care, yielding intense reds and delicate rosés. Some are bottled under the Reschio label; others are personalised for the owners of our houses, made for the joy of their tables.
Now, a new arrival joins the family: Reschio’s sparkling wine. It has no name yet—it prefers to speak through its fragrance, its sunset hue, its taste. It was born of an idea, whispered among the vines back in 2020, then left to mature with the same patience we grant to our fruit: slow and steady, in step with nature’s own rhythms.
The idea was simple, yet bold: could a land known for its deep reds produce a sparkling wine that might astonish? A year ago, it seemed ready. But the unanimous advice from those closest to it was to wait—to allow the wine to finish telling its story. A story we are finally ready to hear this spring. It will be an intimate unveiling, like tales once told around a fire. Just 250 bottles, each one hand-numbered by a calligrapher. A limited edition, born of a generous season and a harvest that brought smiles. Each bottle is unique, as are the labels, individually inscribed by hand. Each contains the value of waiting, the craftsmanship of care, the trust placed in a land that has long known how to amaze us.
This sparkling wine is made using the Traditional Method—also known as méthode champenoise—from Sangiovese grapes vinified as a rosé, with a dosage that falls into Extra Brut. It is the most noble and time-honoured way of creating fine bubbles, involving a second fermentation in bottle—quiet and unhurried—during which the wine evolves, deepens and gains its poise. Each bottle becomes a miniature world, slowly maturing. The result? A refinement that cannot be explained, only tasted. We knew the vision had become reality at the moment of dégorgement—that near-theatrical gesture which frees the bottle of its lees. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in Reschio’s winemaking journey. Even the packaging reflects the essential nature of this first release. No wooden cases, no ornate boxes. Only a neutral carrier, practical and understated, allowing the wine itself to speak. There will be no vintage marked on the label—Reschio’s sparkling wine was born of intuition, not of a specific year. And it will not be made every year.
The next production date remains unknown: perhaps 2027, or 2028. The years that followed the first harvest were not generous. But this wine carries within it a quiet wisdom: that some things cannot be scheduled. They can be dreamt of, prepared for—but ultimately, they arrive when nature decides. It is our toast to the land
