We Love Our New Year’s Eve Jazz Festival
We love the pulsating rhythm of New Year’s Eve and are already dreaming of family and friends gathering at Reschio to celebrate the dawn of 2025. This year, the Cuban vibe will weave its way through the music, with Arachel Dolphie headlining the 3-day Festival together with Daisy’s Big Band.
It was such a hit last year, from the opening beat on 30th December when all congregated at the Stable Fair to try on hats, ostrich feathers, and all the fabulous accessories that immediately spun Reschio back to the heady days of 1920. In each of the stable stalls, an inner circle of experts will take up residence for two days, dispensing advice and embellishments - including hair ornaments, make-up, tarot cards to predict rosy futures, dance tutors and even croupiers to give gambling tips and, all the while, live jazz reverberates - even the Spanish horses put on a dressage display. At 10.00 p.m. the Tabaccaia will light up – transformed into a Casinò for the night – the teller hands out chips, cocktail shakers clink to the rhythm, cigarette girls dispense cigars while a band plays through the smoky air. The thrill is pure Prohibition and guests cannot get enough of this truly cinematic experience, while they too contribute with their elegant apparel.
New Year’s Eve has more to discover at the Stable Fair and in the evening guests converge on the Ristorante Alle Scuderie for drinks. The fashion stakes are high as chic couples take their places for a fabulous, traditional dinner with Reschio wines. Arachel will be in full voice leading the Big Band to sing out the old year and welcome the new, as Champagne corks pop, the famed Parisian DJ, Dorion Fiszel takes over and the party continues into the early hours.
It is left to the wild dawn chorus to welcome 2025, until guests slowly emerge for noon mass in the family chapel within the castle walls, before walking the short distance to the Ristorante Alle Scuderie for brunch. Chestnuts will be roasting on an open fire, traditional Umbrian specialities served as well as popular brunch dishes with Bloody Marys or Champagne to restore any jaded spirits.
We love the decadent celebration and really hope that you too can be here.
